> HOLD AN EVENT

ONE SMALL STEP IS ALL IT TAKES. You can make a difference by running a fundraising event on behalf of the OIS. Involve your family and friends, and you’ll all reap the rewards that come from giving of yourselves to help those who need it most! Here are some ideas for events you could hold in your community: Walk/skate/bike/dance-a-thon Golf tournament Cocktail party/Wine tasting Bowling party House tours Silent auction Raffle Car wash Bake Sale Can Drive Off-Road or Motorcycle Run
Among the events others have held to raise funds for the OIS: The Jones/Covell family have organized their 2nd annual Off-Road Poker Run in Lake County. The turn out this year doubled last year's and they look forward to next year's annual event at North Country Campground in Baldwin with a pig roast and DJ music to keep the dusty riders happy. Caine Johnson organized a Golf Tournament to raise awareness and money for OIS this past May. Pam Haggerty held the First Annual Motorcycle Rally in South Lyon, Michigan. The event raised over $1,000 for OIS to donate to disabled veterans to give them the chance to enjoy activities they may not be able to enjoy on their own. Way to go Pam and Andy! Morgan Forney, a high school student in Byron, GA is dedicating 4 months of his time to sell "Purple Heart" plants to raise money and awareness for Operation Injured Soldiers Foundation . If you are in the Warner Robins area between now and December, 2007, stop by the Walmart and support Morgan's school project while showing and giving your support to our disabled veterans of America.
