Dear Mr. Covell,

Let me begin by saying I had never heard of this Foundation before three weeks ago.   I am so glad to learn of it's
existence and what all it does for our injured soldiers.  I wonder how many people like myself have never heard of
your organization?  I can proudly say that in the Middle Georgia area between now and December my grandson
and his family will educate the public about The Injured Soldiers Foundation.  He had told his PaPa and myself
several weeks ago about a project he had to do for school.  He had pondered over many ideas and finally he and
his dad came up with selling purple heart plants to raise money for the foundation.  Naturally he has to write a
report, take pictures and show step by step the process he has gone through to make his project work.   But
beyond all that he has learned a great deal about the foundation and it has made him so proud to be able to
contribute something.  Every pebble thrown into a pond has the ability to make bigger and bigger ripples.  That is
Morgan's goal.
As his Nana, I am so proud that he has chosen your foundation for his project.  When he explained what all he had
to do to get ready for his Purple Heart Project, I just had to sigh and think I hope this fourteen year old young man
has not bitten off more than he can chew.  Naturally It made myself and his PaPa proud but I worried that it would
be so time consuming he would soon loose interest.  That has not happened and will not happen from what we
have observed.  His excitement grows for the project with each new day.  Sunday was especially exciting with the
first sale of his plants called the Purple Heart.  His dad and mom have gotten excited as well with the project so it
was easy for them to get on board and help.  With Wal-Mart's permission, Morgan and his parents, Jennie and
Shaughn, set up the stand with the purple heart flowers.  I had given his dad some American flags to put on their
table, instead he and Morgan chose to put them in the cup's with the plants.  These sold right away.  Now we are
looking for more small flags to go with the ones he will sell this weekend.  The flags added a special touch along
with the brochure's you sent to Morgan and really captured the attention of the patrons.
My daughter-in-law, Jennie thought this would be a good human interest story.  She decided to call WMAZ News in
Macon.  She told them about the project and ask if they would announce the place and time for the sale of the
purple heart flowers for the Injured Soldiers Foundation.  Naturally they were shocked and thrilled when the WMAZ
News van pulled up to interview Morgan.   It was aired and many people have called me to expressed how proud
they are of Morgan and they will definitely come out for the next sale of the plants.  Morgan has set a goal of
$1,000.00.  Needless to say Nana & PaPa are so proud of him and his parents.   The excitement is catching, and
we are hoping that in the Middle Ga. area more people will learn of your Foundation.

Thank you,
Nana

Just an FYI...

It is a humbling experience to see the appreciation these injured soldiers and their families have for the
opportunity to attend an event such as a Spartan football game. These are people who have given much, expect
nothing, and are very thankful for the little things in life people may give them.

SGT Ted Myer was our guest this weekend. The message you put on the board between the quarters brought his
wife to tears. His son is the band major for one of the smallest school districts in Michigan and it was a thrill for him
to see the Spartan band march to and from the stadium and onto the playing field. As the band paraded away
from the stadium his son turned to me and said he "can now die a happy man".

Ted was disabled in Desert Storm (Army) and his oldest son served in Irag (Marines) and was the present when
Saddam's statue was taken down. These are proud people we should all be proud of.

I thank you very much for your help in giving them a little bit of thanks back.

Thank You,

I live in England and find it disappointing that across the pond we do not have a like site as yours.
Your soldiers are brave and I wish you all the success in the world in your raising of money.  If I was American
and living in America I would like to help organise a fund-raising for the troops.
In the meantime I will spend some time trying to set up a similar site to yours.

Hi,

I saw Wilderness Journal with the hunt involving the man that founded Operation Injured Soldiers. Went on to
your web site, liked what I saw. Simple and honest, but it looks like you need to spread the news more.

So just to let you know, I live in Indian River, MI, I've emailed friends and family from NJ to CA inviting them to go
to your web site and check your foundation out.

I even emailed 102.9 Big Country the Young and Verna Show hosts, Jeff and Verna, telling them about your web
site. Figure the more people that know about your foundation the more you will get help.

Unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck myself so this is the way I figure I can help you and the injured soldiers.
I myself did 4 yrs active duty in the Air Force in peaceful times, married into the military which we then retired at
20 yrs out of the Air Force.

My Father was military and just about everyone in my family was military at one time. My husband and I take great
pride in our country and fly the flag daily.

Hopefully this will help at least spread knowledge of your foundation. Keep up the good work.

Dear Soldier,

I can't possibly know or understand what thoughts may be going through your mind or the pain you are
suffering both physically and emotionally.  What I do know is that you have sacrificed so much for our Country
so that I and others, can continue to enjoy the freedomes we are accustom to, freedoms that unfortunately, we
sometimes take for granted.

A simple thank you seems almost inappropriate but I am "thankful" to you and all the men and women who
protect and serve our Country, for without you and others who have served before you, I wouldn't be in a
position to write a "note of thanks".

There are members of my family currently serving at this time and I am equally as proud of you as I am of them.
Please know that during this difficult time in your life, that you are loved, prayed for and respected.  My sincere
hope and prayer is that you will have a speedy and successful recovery and that you will be blessed beyond
your dreams.  God Bless You Solider!

Dear Brave Soldier,

I am so proud of you and the risk you have taken to keep our country safe.  I am so sad that soldiers are
hurt and killed every day.  I wish the world was different, safe, with no war.  Since that is not the case, I am so
thankful that there are brave men and women who are willing to risk their own lives to protect our nation and
preserve our way of life.
